On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Khun Sulida Wangchi, head of the HSC’s IMT-GT team together with Ms. Jasmin Manee and Ms. Angsana Ayukhen attended the 26th IMT-GT Senior Official Meeting (SOM) at the Sofitel Hotel, Krabi. The main discussion point was the development towards the Innovation Areas, which may enhance business capabilities in order that Halal products and services may be accessible to consumers through Smart Applications in response to the global market’s demand. The Thai delegation from the Halal Science Center has proposed two new projects named Blockchain and HAL Plus, which have been approved by the meeting.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, the Halal Science Center Director, was invited to give a talk on a panel discussion titled “Indonesia Industry 4.0 and ASEAN Halal Perspective” at the 24th Food Ingredients Asia 2019 (FI Asia) at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center, Bangna (during September 11-13, 2019). Mr. Ongard Panyachatiraksa, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presided over the opening ceremony. On the panel discussion, Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan gave a talk on “the H-number and Thailand’s Halal Initiatives.” There were over 80 Thai and international entrepreneurs attending the discussion.
The HSC Director also had an opportunity to discuss with Mr. Ongard Panyachatiraksa on future collaboration between the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, which may be supported by the Ministry, using Thailand’s capability in Halal Science, technology, and innovation to support the country’s Halal industrial sector to grow and reach higher potentiality.
On 19th August, 2019, Khun Manas Suebsantikul, advisor to the HSC Director, representing the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, joined in congratulating the Minister of Commerce on the 99th anniversary of the Ministry’s establishment under the concept of the Ministry of Commerce 4.0 at the Burachat Chaiyakorn Room.
On August 3rd, 2019, 120 students from the Southern, Northern, and Central regions of the country consisting of 29 teams together with their supervisors arrived at Chulalongkorn University to get ready for the Scientist Competition 2019 organized at Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building (Chamchuri 10) on the following day.
The Thursday activity began with a lecture on “How to change the world with innovations” by Dr. Sukrit Sirikwanpong, advisor to the Director for Halal Science Center Laboratories followed by another lecture on “Digital transformation for Halal scientists” by Dr. Pradorn Sureepong, Halal Science Center Assistant Director at the Chiang Mai Office.
On 12th July, 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, the Halal Science Center Director, was invited to attend an opening ceremony of the “Give” event at the Rajamangala National Stadium. Present at the event included the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand and Khun Sompol Rattanabhibal, the advisor to the HSC Director for Educational Services and Industry.
At the event, the Halal Science Center also organized a booth in which participants could try making our famous HSC lip balm, recently receiving the Silver Award from Malaysia, pose with the HSC Forensic Science Lab miniature, taste delicious fried chicken from our SME Heroes in Town Project, or find out more about the Center from our staff. The HSC Director also visited the HSC booth.
On July 11, 2019, the HSC Manufacturing Services led by Khun Sompol Rattanabhibal, an advisor to the Director for Educational Services and Industry, organized a meeting at the HSC at Suan Luang Square Office to report on the result of the audition of the Halal shops and the operational plan of the Halal markets under the “SMEs Hero in Town” Project. Other participants attending the meeting included several Islamic religious leaders (Imams) from Masjid Darul-Aman, Masjid Al Istiqamah, Masjid Nurulhuda, Masjid Bang Luang and Masjid Nurul Mubeen.
